Physical Education at Green Woods Charter School

Green Woods Physical Education is based upon the acquisition of knowledge and skills that are the foundation for physical literacy. However, the mere acquisition of knowledge and skills is not enough. The mission of Physical Education is to empower all students to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive and fulfilling life.

Our Physical Education program is sequentially based through kindergarten to eighth grade. It is founded on physical activities undertaken in an active, caring, supportive and non-threatening atmosphere in which every student is challenged and successful.

Students with special needs are provided with differentiated instruction to allow for maximum participation.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grade will participate in comprehensive physical education activities in the following categories: team activities, individual activities, personal fitness and cooperative activities. These activities will provide students with the opportunity for enjoyment, being challenged, self-expression, social interaction and personal fitness.
