2022 Yule Celebration
Please join us for our yearly celebration of the Winter Solstice in the amphitheater at Green Woods on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 6:00 p.m
Individuals have celebrated the Winter Solstice, or longest night of the year, since ancient times. Traditionally a full tree covered with ribbons and wishes was burned with celebrations that continued until the fire went out. Green Woods won't go that far, but our Yule Logs will be covered with the wishes of our community, which will float skyward to be granted.

News from the Health Room
A "triple threat" of seasonal illnesses is upon us. Flu, RSV and COVID-19 cases are spiking in the Philadelphia area. Preventative measures are the key to help stop the spread. These include: covering coughs and sneezes with your upper shirt sleeve, not your hand; washing hands often and for at least 20 seconds; cleaning frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, cell phones and table tops more often; and staying home or keeping your child home if they are sick.

After-School Activities
Session one is coming to a close for extracurricular activities! Please note that this week is the last week of activities for session one. Session two will begin on January 9 and end on March 17.
With the exception of choir and gymnastics, there will be no after school activities the week of 12/19, this includes academic programs (tutoring/homework help) and all other extra curricular activities!
2023-2024 Enrollment
Application window for the 2023-2024 school year close on 1/23/23!
Current students do not need to submit an application again to retain their spot at Green Woods. Incoming kindergartners and any siblings currently not attending Green Woods will need an application submitted through Apply Philly Charter. Box Tops for Education Competition
GWCS will kick off 2023 with a Box Tops for Education competition. The grade that logs the most points during January and February will receive a pizza party.
