Greetings from Green Woods!
It is hard to believe that we are at the end of the first Trimester! It wasn't long ago that we were welcoming students back to school on a very hot September morning, and we have accomplished so much since then. Thank you to all of our families and community members for your patience and support throughout these first few months of school as we worked through growing pains and changes this year. We are grateful for your ongoing support!
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I wanted to take a moment to thank our amazing staff. There is rarely a moment during the school week where you won't find staff members thinking about how to make their class more engaging for their students. We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated and hard-working staff at Green Woods, who consistently put their work at the forefront. I am personally grateful for the opportunity to work with such smart, reflective educators every single day. Please thank your student(s) teacher when you see them!
One final note - November is Epilepsy Awareness Month, and we will be wearing purple the day before we leave for Thanksgiving break to raise awareness. Eva DeStefano, an 8th grader here at GWCS, wrote a compelling essay to draw awareness and we are excited to support her on November 27. Thank you, Eva, for leading the way on this!
From all of us here at Green Woods, we wish you all a safe, healthy and happy Thanksgiving!
