Middle School Engineering

Green Woods' Engineering Program is designed as an overview and introduction to the wide field of engineering. Students will learn the engineering design process and become adept at meeting a wide array of real-world challenges.

The course covers the main types of engineering fields; Civil, Automotive, Computer, Aerospace, Robotics, and Environmental Engineering.

During each of these projects, the students follow the engineering design process. They will learn about each field while completing a background research project. They then receive their engineering prompt, brainstorm, and write a project proposal. After build time, they will then test their solution. The students then reflect on the process so they can improve for the next unit. This process encourages the development of team building and critical thinking as they problem-solve.
