Reuben F. Mills
Chief Executive Officer
A dynamic, passionate and proven leader, Reuben Mills was appointed CEO of Green Woods Charter School in 2017.
Prior to his appointment to Green Woods, Mr. Mills served as the CEO at New Media Technology Charter School. Mr. Mills also led the Camden City School district as Assistant Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and Interim Superintendent. He is a product of the Philadelphia Public School System and worked in a variety of roles as a counselor, teacher, Director, Assistant Principal and Principal.
Mr. Mills, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Cheyney University of PA, a Master’s in Education Psychology from Temple University and a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Cheyney University of PA. He is presently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Leadership and Policy Studies at Temple University.
Stephani Finnin has been involved in education for over 21 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education from West Chester University, A Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Secondary School Counseling from West Chester and a Principal’s Certificate from Penn State University. She is currently pursuing her Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility at St. Joseph’s University.
Ms. Finnin began her career as an English Teacher in Coatesville, PA where she was quickly promoted to School Counselor and Dean of Students. Ms. Finnin has served as Principal at Ad Prima Charter School and St. Frances Cabrini Regional Catholic Schools. She was the Assistant Dean at Valley Forge Military Academy and College and a teacher and counselor in the School District of Philadelphia.
Ms. Finnin believes that all children can learn but each learns in a different way and at different rates. She believes that with hard work and perseverance we can touch each child in a special way. Keeping the atmosphere positive is the key to success as well as keeping the lines of communication open among staff, students, and parents. Ms. Finnin feels that teamwork is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the goal of helping a child attain his or her full potential.
Dean of Students
Chris Hunsberger steps into the role of Dean of Students with more than fourteen years experience teaching and working with students of diverse backgrounds. Prior to his time as Physical Education teacher at Green Woods, Chris was the Health and Physical Education teacher at Ambler Day School and Holy Family Villa Academy. Mr. Hunsberger (or "Mr. H.", as students call him affectionately) has a great rapport with our children and is looking forward to building upon the positive school climate in his new position.
Beginning in 2012, Mr. H contributed his energy and effort to developing several engaging student programs at Green Woods. He was one of the teachers who developed our Trailblazer Cup Challenge, creating a plan for our student body to compete in schoolfocused games and competitions throughout the year, culminating in a Field Day at the end of the school year. He is also a leader for the Trailblazer Running Club, coaching after school to help 7th and 8th graders complete the Broad Street Run through the Students Run Philly Style program.
Mr. Hunsberger grew up in Collegeville and graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School. He then went on to East Stroudsburg University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, with a teaching certification in Health and Physical Education K12.
Mr. Hunsberger is married and has two lovely daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and spending quality time with his family.
Special Education Coordinator
Mary O'Neill has been a strong advocate for students with disabilities for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education from Chestnut Hill College, a Master's Degree in Education from Lock Haven University, a Special Education Supervisor Certificate from University of Pittsburgh and a Principal Certificate from California University of PA. She also holds National Board Teacher Certification.
Ms. O'Neill began her career as a special education teacher in the Philadelphia School District, teaching both high and low incidence disability categories. She moved into administration as a Supervisor of Special Education at Phoenixville School District. Mary relocated to Vermont where she worked as a Director of Student Services in the Washington South Supervisory Union. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, she held the position of Director of Special Education at Pottstown School District.
Mary promotes a school environment where students learn to respect, accept and embrace the differences between them as the core of what makes life so fascinating.
PIMS & Student Enrollment Coordinator
Karen is a long time resident of the Roxborough area. She holds degrees in Business Management and Paralegal/Para Accounting. Karen has three boys, Matthew, Michael and Nicholas all currently or having previously attended GWCS.
As the PIMS & Student Enrollment Coordinator, Karen brings to Green Woods a wealth of knowledge and expertise in database management. She works closely with our Principal and CEO helping with the day to day operation of the school and as with everyone at Green Woods, Karen's job duties incorporate the wearing of many hats.
Jeanne Keough was born and raised in nearby Germantown and graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science with a degree in Marketing. She worked for 13 years at Asher's Chocolates in their retail candy store as the assistant manager until she left to raise her family. Jeanne and her husband Dennis are the proud parents of 2 children, Caitlin and Shamus, both are graduated Green Woods students.
Jeanne utilizes her marketing skills by working closely with the Green Woods controller, keeping track of supplies and invoices. You can also find Jeanne monitoring arrival and dismissal and supporting the many needs of students, teachers, and staff in the very busy Green Woods front office.
