2019-2020 Lottery Results:
 
The results of the 2019-2020 lottery are listed below.  Instructions on how to read the results are within each list.  At the time of the lottery the only seats available are for kindergarten.  As seats become available in other grades we will offer beginning at the top of the lists and will work our way down in the order the lottery was drawn based on our catchment requirement.  All questions in regards to the lottery should be direct to registrar@greenwoodscharter.org

NOTE: APPLICANTS MUST TURN 5 YEARS OF AGE ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2019 TO APPLY FOR KINDERGARTEN. APPLICANTS MUST TURN 6 YEARS OF AGE ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2019 TO APPLY FOR GRADE 1. PROOF OF BIRTH DATE AND PROOF OF RESIDENCY ARE TWO DOCUMENTS THAT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ENROLLMENT.

Now through January 28, 2019 - Applications will be available via the Apply Philly Charter website by clicking here.  If you need assistance, please contact our registrar at registrar@greenwoodscharter.org or (215) 482-6337 and ask for the registrar.
 
November 20, 2018- Open House information sessions for prospective families. Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from 4:30 through 6:00 p.m. To sign up for the open house please click here. Please note that this is the only open house opportunity for prospective families for the 2019-2020 school year.  If enrollment is offered there will be an opportunity for enrolling families to visit the school prior to the start of the school year. Green Woods Charter School is unable to accommodate individual tour requests.
 
Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 6:00 PM - The public lottery will be held in the school cafeteria. The lottery list will be generated randomly from the list of applicants. The lottery list will be posted on the website. Applicants can, then, check their confirmation number against the lottery results to learn of their place on the waiting list. Siblings have preference. SEE "NOTE" BELOW. Applicants are welcome to attend the public lottery but it is not required.
 
Acceptance letters sent out by March 7,2019. Sibling packets sent home witholder sibling along with offer letter. Siblings declining the opportunity to enroll are asked to inform registrar via email immediately. General Applicants to be mailed offer letter along with FAQ (provided in packet to siblings). General applicants asked to inform registrar if declining Packet pick up for general applicants is scheduled for (per admissions policy):

 

Wednesday, March 13, 2019 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
And
Thursday, March 14, 2019 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

 

Paperwork drop off for all new incoming students (sibling and general per admissions policy):

 

Wednesday, April 24, 2019 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Thursday, April, 25, 2019 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  OR 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.

 

Intent to return requests from current community members will be distributed on May 3, 2019 (google form possible, check charter) and are due no later than May 15, 2019.
 

Determine available seats for September by last week of school. Begin offering additional seats immediately.

 

Schedule an informal tour and Q&A session for kindergarten families mid-June (after teachers leave for break).

 

Schedule assessments with Kindergarten team before they leave for summer break to take place in August when they return. Additional informal tour possible depending on the number of incoming students (other than original kindergarten offers) during the assessment period.

 

Schedule PTA play dates at the park (PTA contact for this year???)

 
Medical paperwork tracking: June 30th, July 31st, August 15th, follow up with families for medical paperwork for incoming students who are not yet 5 (nurse unavailable for medical follow up during summer months). Immunizations required,

physical and dental requested.

* Only after Green Woods receives all required documents is a child's enrollment complete. If all legally required documents are not received by the required date, the family of the applicant will be notified that their child has not been successfully enrolled and we will go to the next applicant on the waitlist.

If additional seats open up, those on the waiting list will be notified.

NOTE: THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA MANDATES THAT GREEN WOODS CHARTER SCHOOL FILL A MINIMUM OF 75% OF OPEN LOTTERY SEATS WITH APPLICANTS FROM WITHIN OUR LOCAL CATCHMENT AREA. THE CATCHMENT AREA IS DEFINED BY THOSE FAMILIES WHOSE CHILDREN WOULD ATTEND THE FOLLOWING LOCAL PHILADELPHIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS IF THEY WERE APPLYING TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA FOR ENROLLMENT:

COOK-WISSAHICKON SCHOOL

DOBSON SCHOOL
