| WHAT IT'S LIKE
TO TEACH AT GREEN WOODS |
I am looking forward to becoming part of the unique team of teachers that make up Green Woods! In my search for a kindergarten teaching position, I came across the Green Woods website. I was amazed at what a unique and hands-on school that Green Woods is! Being able to integrate all aspects of the curriculum and “bringing the classroom outside,” were only a few of the main reasons I wanted to teach here! I feel that most students learn best when they are directly exposed to what they are learning. Being able to have the 300 acres of forest to explore and learn from is something I truly cannot wait to discover with my students! I feel honored to have been chosen to be a part of the Green Woods team! |

Mary Frances (Mimi) Wainwright,
Nurse
|
 |
 |
 |
Students learn best when they are healthy. As
the School Nurse at GWCS I am dedicated
to promoting and protecting the health of every
student and all staff in our school and in
the unique environment here at Green Woods
Charter School. I strive everyday to
help guide students to develop good health
habits that will last a lifetime. Of
particular concern to me as a school nurse
is to assist in identifying and providing support
for health conditions that adversely impact
a student’s learning.
I am certified as a School Nurse/Educational
Specialist by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
. I continue to enrich my nursing specialty
by completing additional graduate level classes
in School Nursing and School Law. My
memberships include Pennsylvania School Nurses
Association, National Association of School
Nurses and American Holistic Nurses Association.
Mimi lives with her husband Chris and two
sons, Ryan, a student at Gwynedd Mercy College
and Ben, a freshman at PhilMont Christian Academy,
their ten year old Dachund, Oliver and Ringo,
their huge Maine Coon Cat. Her hobbies
include cooking, reading for her book club, watching
independent or foreign films, alternative healing
and anything Celtic. |
