KIDS CARE Art Exhibition to open at the Woodmere Museum in Chestnut Hill
During their weekly art classes, Green Woods 7th graders have just completed a collection of Soft Sculpture Aliens. Each student designed and stitched their own soft and cuddly alien using polar fleece fabric, felt, buttons, and trims. All of these aliens will be on exhibit at the Woodmere Museum in their annual exhibition entitled Kids Care, whose opening reception is on Saturday, November 12th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. The entire Green Woods community is welcome to attend. Each year the exhibition has a theme and this year's theme was Into the Atmosphere. All work will be gift wrapped and donated to patients at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in mid-December, when the exhibition closes. A heartfelt thank you goes to Jennifer Smith, mother of Jake, who inspired our Soft Sculpture Aliens with alien cuddly toys she made for her children, and who came in to assist with this worthwhile project.
