State mandated screenings: vision, hearing, scoliosis, growth, BMI
Chronic disease management
Medication Administration and pediatric nursing procedures
Hospital Homebound Services
Development & implement Health Plans to protect & maintain the safety & health of our students
Develop & implement emergency plans for acute physical & emotional problems
Monitor immunization compliance
Assess & treat injuries & illness that occur during school hours
Maintain confidential student Health Records
Promote health & wellness programs
School Nurses play a integral role in the CSAP process & medical homebound
Monitor Individual Health Plans & 504 Plans
Increase students self-care skills
Teach students to be responsible for age appropriate self- management of their chronic health issues
Educate faculty & staff on student health needs & the impact that may have on education within HIPPA guidelines
Participate in the School District of Philadelphia & The State of Pennsylvania health policies, goals & objectives
Promote improvements regarding the safety of GWCS physical building & the State of Pennsylvania guidelines of indoor air quality for schools
Assist families to obtain health insurance & health care for their children
