Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Green Woods Charter School appreciates and values the role that our parents play in supporting the social, emotional and academic success of our students. To effectively build the parent voice in our school, the Board of Trustees directed the establishment of a Parent Teacher Association.

The purpose for establishing a viable PTA is threefold: to help the Board and SLT discuss and identify "school creation" issues, that is, things that Green Woods has never done before or that Green Woods may need to redefine in order to reflect our mission and vision; to build open and honest communication between home and school, and to help organize, advertise, and carry out school/community events including rallying our parent volunteers to support this year's Fun Day! An additional responsibility of the PTA is to host Town Meetings during the school year.

The PTA invites all Green Woods parents to be a part of this important Association. Obligations include:

• a commitment to supporting the needs of GWCS and this Association;

• a strong desire for teamwork and collaboration in support of the mission and vision of GWCS;

• and, the willingness to share ideas, listen to all stakeholders, and to work alongside the CEO, teaching staff, parents, and our board of trustees to create an inclusive and supportive home/school network.

If you would like to volunteer your time to help support the Parent Teacher Association, please join the PTA at our next Parent Teacher Association Meeting. Look for date and time on the website or leave a message for the PTA at (215) 482-6337 or email us at pta@greenwoodscharter.org.
