Barry Sunshine, Vice President

Barry Sunshine was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He attended the Cheltenham school system and graduated from Penn State with a General Arts and Sciences degree and with concentrations in both Journalism and Marketing.
  
After graduating, he went to work for his father's business where he distributed general purpose electronic test equipment, representing 30 major manufacturers, selling to every major manufacturing facility, engineering firm and government facility in the area.
  
Wanting to get to know every aspect of the company, Barry worked his way up from his first assignment as a shipper, through purchasing, running the Cal Lab, sales and marketing, to COO and eventually took over running the company when his father passed away. Before retiring five years ago, Barry spent 22 years as the CEO and was able to build the company into the most premier company of its type in the Tri-State region.

Barry is married to a wonderful woman who teaches Art in the upper school at Germantown Friends School. Together they have 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren. In his spare time, Barry likes to read, travel, and drive fast cars.
  
When asked why he wanted be on the board of trustees, Barry stated, “I believe, strongly, that the solution to civilization's problems begins with effective education. I'm happy to work with the professionals at Green Woods Charter School and look forward to utilizing my experience and business expertise to support the Board.”
